Expected time in the hospital: 5-days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Partial knee replacement\/arthroplasty<\/strong> (also called medial uni-compartmental or lateral uni-compartmental): Only the part of the knee that is diseased is resurfaced and the part of the knee that is not diseased is not resurfaced. Expected time in the hospital: 3-4 days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Patello-femoral arthroplasty (Knee cap resurfacing):<\/strong>Expected time in the hospital:3-4 days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Revision of knee replacement:<\/strong> A re-operation on a knee that has had a previous knee replacement which has failed or become loose; part or all of the previous implant is removed and replaced with a new one. Expected time in the hospital: 5 days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Bilateral partial or total knee replacements<\/strong>: Both knees are replaced. Expected time in the hospital: 7-8 days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hip Replacement:\u00a0<\/strong>Total hip replacement\/arthroplasty (THR, THA): Hip ball and socket are replaced. Expected time in the hospital: 4-5 days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Revision of hip replacement:<\/strong> Are-operation on a hip that has had a previous hip replacement which has failed or become loose ;part or all of the previous implant is removed and replaced with a new one. Expected time in the hospital:5-6 days<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Bilateral hip replacement:<\/strong> Both hips are replaced simultaneously.
